Our region’s top athletes will be in action at the 2nd World War Memorial Aquatic Centre in Rockhampton for the 2026 Splash Aquatics CQ Sprint Championships, with the host venue coming on board as naming rights sponsor for this season’s event on Saturday 10th January.
In addition to the recently publicised sponsorship from Ergon Energy, this local support for our championship meets is greatly appreciated by the CQSA Management Committee and directly benefits our swimmers, coaches & clubs.
The meet is now open for nominations on SwimCentral, with entries closing on Friday 2nd January 2026. All four strokes are included in the heats & finals format, along with relays providing the opportunity for clubs to band together and compete for cash prizes.
With the upcoming inaugural Queensland Country Championships being hosted at the same venue later in January 2026, CQSA have arranged with Swimming Qld to permit our region’s athletes a final opportuntiy to qualify for Country Champs at our CQ Sprints meet. Swimmers with existing QTs must submit their entries by the standard close date/time (Note: Times achieved at CQ Sprints cannot be used to update existing entries.), with a CQ-specific late entries file to be opened from 11th January until 10am Monday 12th. This option is only for swimmers who achieve a new QT for an additional Country Champs event at CQ Sprints.
